A carrier customer requested support identifying SIM box fraud on the network. Simphonic set parameters to identify behavior characteristics across the subscriber base targeting more than 50 devices in the same location that were immobile and engaging in identical service consumption 24/7. Based on these and other identifiers we assigned a confidence score per instance resulting in compliance action and a significant reduction in fraud.

An operator customer’s device team requested access to the Simphonic platform and related device performance data to help test new handsets under consideration. The insight has been useful in the certification process, identifying issues like poor implementation of baseband radio causing excessive cell reselection from a static location. The result was revised baseband firmware from the OEM and a successful device launch.

A growing Tier-1 carrier acquired a regional competitor and used Simphonic’s reporting architecture to monitor the success of a SIM file management change to re-register handsets with the acquiring carrier’s infrastructure. Simphonic provided management reporting on the efficacy of the program and defined a retry policy until all necessary registrations were achieved.

The Simphonic platform has had the privilege of supporting network operators during natural disasters such as wildfire, wind and tropical storm. By monitoring connectivity to cell sites in near real time during the event, we could support network teams with insight into geographies that had gone offline and provide service performance insight as handsets connected to either other terrestrial networks or satellite partners for service.

Multiple geographically dispersed MVNOs use the Simphonic platform to better understand network and handset performance as it relates to their subscribers’ quality of experience. One European MVNO tied the Simphonic reporting tool directly into customer service, creating near real time visibility into service and device issues not previously possible from the host network.

An operator trialing 5G slicing was interested in how guaranteed performance parameters measured up against best-effort service delivery. Simphonic’s device-side validation complemented core network monitoring tools to form a complete picture of the impact of slicing and related general service degradation within the same geographic location.

A carrier partner with plans to scale IoT deployments directed Simphonic to add geolocation visibility to endpoints unfit for GPS battery drain or in-building and underground coverage issues. A hardware independent SIM-based platform was ideal to manage a future of diverse end points requiring autonomous network steering without requiring high levels of server-to-device communication.

Home network roaming and border signal contagion were having a significant operational and financial impact to a Simphonic operator customer. By implementing Simphonic’s EdgeNC, the carrier was able to gain better visibility and control over cost and quality of experience maintaining home network connectivity.

An operator with growing signaling congestion from inactive devices and IoT end points attempting to register with the network utilizes Simphonic to monitor network reject events above a certain threshold. Once identified, OTA file delete commands are sent suppressing the SIM and stopping the excessive and unnecessary signaling.
